Welcome to a Cotswold Hill Farm |
Find
a self-catering stone built holiday cottage on a quiet hill farm in
cotswold country near Chalford in Gloucestershire UK. Pets welcome.
|
The Cotswolds are classified as
"an area of
outstanding natural beauty" and offer a rich tapestry of green rolling hills studded
with picture-postcard villages
Westley
Farm is an 80 acre hill farm where wild woods, banks of cowslips and orchids
are rated of equal importance to the raising of cattle and sheep. |
Our traditional stone cottages are spread over the farm
and have rural views as good as any in England. You can just hear the distant bells of
Oakridge church and see the houses peep out of the canopy of trees on the other side of
the valley.
The
unique village of Chalford is a mile away with its jumble of mellow cottages
scattered down
the hillside entwined with tortuous lanes and donkey tracks. Cirencester and Stroud are
fifteen minutes drive while Gloucester, Cheltenham, Bristol and Bath can be reached within an
hour.

The farm
is bounded by an old canal built in 1785 and is the starting point for many
varied local walks. Each cottage has a log fire and access to telephone and washing machine. Dogs
are welcome. For many years badgers have come every evening to two of the cottages and
expect to be fed.
There are
a surprising number of local pubs and restaurants with menus ranging from 'cordon bleu' to
'bangers & mash'.
