Yurt Reynolds

Our stunning woodland yurt is named in tribute to one of the pioneers of outdoor living, Burt Reynolds. An early enthusiast for the yurt lifestyle, Burt would often leave the Hollywood hellraising behind and head for the canyons to relax in one of his hand-crafted yurts. Legend has it that he would spend his afternoons whittling away at the redwoods before retiring for the night to gaze at the stars, banjo in hand. Plans for a range of Burt’s Yurts were dropped after the success of his woodland horror movie Deliverance and from that time on Burt kept his passion for all things yurt private.

Yurt Reynolds is a 16-foot diameter canvas temple to the man, with a double bed, quirky yet stylish furnishing and two single futons for the little ‘uns. Outside there is a spacious deck with camp kitchen under canvas, a hand-crafted canvas and wood bath-house with a roll-top tub, firebowl and thunderbox loo. There is also a wood-fired hot tub for easing those aches and pains or just gazing at the stars.

Step off the deck and you are in the magical ancient woodlands, with tracks through the woods leading to the canal below. The nearest pub is a 20-minute walk, as is the nearest farmshop and café. All around you are the sounds and sights of the woods – deer, rabbits, birds of prey and rare butterflies. Pets are welcome.
